Congratulations to the winner, Sheila Smith, who's a long-time member and always active in our Annual Park Clean-up. Thanks to Focus Hyundai for recognizing our members' contributions to the well being of Birds Hill Park. CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: In anticipation of our upcoming AGM, we are now calling on the membership to forward nominations for Directors to the Board. If you would like to nominate a member, or are interested in participating on the Board, please contact us before March 31. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: The AGM will take place on May 7, 2009. Further information will be distributed in advance. WEBSITE UPDATES: You can now find our Strategic Plan on the website as well as the Cooperating Agreement between Friends and Manitoba Conservation, and Friends' 2008-09 Activity Plan. Also take a look at the new volunteer positions to see if anything catches your attention. Finally, we anticipate an upcoming article from Art Knight, in cooperation with other founding board members, which outlines the organization's early history. IT'S TIME TO RENEW: You're welcome to use PayPal to renew your membership (due April 1). Contact us to find out how. Also, there's a printable membership form on the website to help process new, mail-in memberships, so let others know. If there are other items or site functions you would like to see available, please let us know. OTHER NEWS: Shelley Morris is scoping out an Adopt-a-Trail Program focused on the Cedar Bog Trail.
